"Living Water, Dead Water #1 & #2" (diptych) — Arch-shaped Oil and Acrylic Art with Dark Ethereal Botanical Motifs and Gold Accents
This compelling piece captures the profound mystery of transformation, exploring the delicate boundary where life and death intersect. Rendered in oil and acrylic on an elegant arch-shaped canvas, the composition features a dark, atmospheric palette punctuated by ethereal purple blooms and moss-covered textures. The narrative centers on an ancient duality — a vessel containing an element that is simultaneously a poison and a remedy. A visual meditation on memory, passage, and the fluid movement between states of being.

The Myth
What if dead water is the only cure for immortality?
And living water — the only cure for death?
They cannot be separated. They are two sides of the same vessel. Each is both poison and remedy. The balance between them rests on movement: flow, time, choice — and on that fine edge where healing becomes a curse, and a curse becomes release.
This is the first part of a diptych exploring this ancient Slavic myth. Two states of the same element. Two faces of transformation.
This work speaks of memory and return — of what is carried forward, even through loss.
With its sophisticated color story of deep charcoals, rich emerald greens, and metallic gold, this work is an exceptional choice for modern interiors, adding a layer of philosophical depth to any living room, study, or gallery wall. Its unique arched format makes it a standout collector's item — a piece that balances mystery and elegance, inviting quiet contemplation.
