The Facets of Myth:
Pomegranate Season (2026)
oil pastel & acrylic on paper
Every winter, we look into the dark.
In the depth of a night lake or a night sky, the slow work begins: peeling yourself down to a new core, layer by layer, old skin by old skin.
On the white, rough sheet, matte black falls unevenly — as if thick charcoal touched paper. Its trace, torn and broken, opens a window of darkness in the white space. From this darkness, silhouettes glow: hands or trees, dense and rough, as if drawn by the first frost — contours of trunks, branches, swirls of bark, like raindrops on autumn puddles.
And in this black-and-white, matte-frost world, the only coloured drops are scattered — scarlet pomegranate seeds.
Each artifact of this alchemical process holds all three: the wound, the pearl, and the seed that remains.
These works are available as single pieces, as pairs, or as a full set — so you may choose exactly how much of that descent you wish to carry with you.
What kind of self will meet the new sun?
