The Facets of Myth:
Pomegranate Season — a cycle of descent and return.
Every winter, we look into the dark.
In the depth of a night lake or a night sky, the slow work begins: peeling yourself down to a new core, layer by layer, old skin by old skin.
This collection opens the Nigredo phase of my practice — the dark half of the cycle, where memory, loss, and silence become material. It is built around the pomegranate: the fruit of Persephone, the gemstone born on blood, and the seed that promises a new beginning.
Here, graphic works and paintings meet. Works on paper — oil pastel and acrylic, black and white, with the only coloured drops: scarlet pomegranate seeds. And paintings — oil, acrylic, anthracite inlay, and black gold leaf on canvas, where the descent deepens into texture.
Each artifact holds all three: the wound, the pearl, and the seed that remains.
The cycle is still unfolding. New works will be added as the season deepens.
What kind of self will meet the new sun?
